What about to see anoter type of color in the items to specify it to Special Items? This color like i am thinking could be RED! Special Weapons and Armor? Why not? but it costs to much time to do that.. ? I think it is but could be so good idea and project to do this!

Why should there be red items? What purpose do they serve that green, gold, purple, blue and white items don't?

maybe make a weapon or something that the guild of the week gets to have for a week or something, or just keep forever.

personally, I think that green items should have been red to start with. That way they wouldn't blend as much with the green text identifying character names when you hit alt, or the green of the drop dialogue text. So, red text... sure. New type of item.... meh, I'm not sold on that part.
